Gose City, TX

Another one of our adventures this past Saturday was out to Gose City, TX. It's pretty close to Holliday, TX, and it was an oil town back in the early 1920's.

Old Equipment

My parents live out in the country near Holliday, TX (which is close to Wichita Falls, TX). Today my Dad took me out in the pasture where there was some old power equipment and oil field equipment.

Lunchbreak Photo Shoot

I had my camera with me when I was in Big Spring, TX, and on my lunch break, I decided to go through a drive-thru and get some food, then go exploring the downtown area. Even though the light is the worst for photography at noon, I decided to see what I could find anyway.

Saturday Photos

I went out today, back home in Wichita Falls, TX, to take some pictures for PhotoSaturdays. It was around 4:30pm, and I got some good lighting thanks to the setting sun. I still can't believe it's setting so soon.

Playing with Steel Wool

I've seen lots of photos that look like this:

After doing a little searching, I figured out that it's steel wool. A few friends and I went out in the country to test it out. A pack of steel wool is around $3 at Lowe's. You can't get entertainment much cheaper than that!

Shafter Lake, TX

This evening I headed out to Shafter Lake. I took some photos while walking on the lake. It was strange walking on the dried up lake because it felt like walking in gooey snow. The farther I went out, the deeper I began to sink.

Ghost Town – Bomarton, TX

On my way back to my parent's house in Wichita Falls, TX from Midland, TX, I've passed this abandoned house many times. I've always wanted to stop and get some pictures. But this time, I noticed a large, brick building in the trees. How I've never seen it before, I'll never know. When I headed back home to Midland, I decided to stop and take some pictures.
